This painting was inspired by Emerson Day’s song “Devil Get Behind Me.” The devil still tries today with lies, shame, and accusations that don’t line up with God’s Word, God’s heart, or God’s plan for our lives. But Jesus overcame the power of the devil and the forces of darkness, putting them to open shame by His victory on the cross. Because of that, we can stand firm in every battle through God’s strength. The enemy has no authority here 👏🏼
I painted Jesus standing with a shield full of fiery darts, embracing a girl as He protects her. It’s a picture of what He does for each of us. Through faith in Him, we are shielded from the enemy’s attacks ⚔️. Even in the midst of battle, His love surrounds us, His strength defends us, and His victory covers it all.
Both the song and this painting declare the same truth: the devil does not get the final word—Jesus does. ✨
