From Sunrise to Sunset
This piece was started at a class I taught last month, but I didn’t finish it right away. Then one day, while going through my daily Bible verses, I came across Psalm 113:3 — “From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised.”
It instantly brought this painting to mind — based on a stunning sunset I saw last year during a season where I was really going through it, but also deeply seeing God’s hand show up in my life. It’s such a sweet full-circle moment to see how things come together — both in art and in life.
I added yellow stippling to show the sun shining through and around the cloud, and drew a continuous line dove flying upward — symbolizing the Holy Spirit and how our praise rises to heaven, no matter what’s in front of us. The line flows behind the cloud and off the canvas, a reminder that God is always present and always moving — even when we can’t see the whole picture.
From sunrise to sunset — may His name always be praised. ☀️🕊️
