Psalm 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
This piece from my Whispers of Grace series is rooted in the truth that God meets us in both the quiet and the unclear. The mist woven through the trees represents the way God shows up throughout Scripture — in the cloud, in the fog, in the places that feel hazy — as a sign of His covering, His protection, and His guidance. Even when we can’t see everything clearly, His presence surrounds us.
The gold line in this painting represents the Holy Spirit — His gentle movement threading through the tree line and resting over the still, reflective water. It’s subtle but powerful, a reminder that the Holy Spirit weaves Himself into every part of our lives… guiding, comforting, and bringing light to places that feel dark or hidden.
The cattails, rocks, and the quiet pause of a deer at the water’s edge reflect that sacred invitation of the verse: slow down, breathe, and recognize that He is God. Stillness isn’t just silence — it’s trust. It’s letting the Holy Spirit guide us while God’s presence covers and protects us.
Even in the mist, He is here. And He will be exalted.
Acrylic on raw canvas. 10×30”
Currently on display at Jester Park Nature Center through the end of April. Will be available May 1st.
